Wattster: Connecting to the future

Our energy management system enables simple AC connection to almost any household grid. This is because the Wattster turns an existing cable into an AC cable for feeding in the PV power. Plus: The bridge also eliminates the RS485 cable from the inverter to the meter.

Smart interaction

In combination with a wireless data connection to the meter, the SIMPLUG feed-in technology developed by Wattando ensures that the maximum permissible current carrying capacity of the feed-in line is not exceeded at any time with Wattster.

The required data from the domestic grid comes via a secure wireless connection from a non-invasive measuring sensor on the main distribution board. The system is optimized with a second sensor on the line into which the power is fed.

Wattster uses this information to control the inverter via the RS485 interface. The feed-in is carried out in accordance with the regulatory requirements and the local parameters of the electrical installation. This enables national specifications for zero feed-in such as customer-specific models of net metering and - if a battery is connected - peak shaving.

The abstract diagram schematically illustrates how Wattando's Wattster energy management system works. The solar modules are connected to the inverter. Optionally, a battery can branch off from the inverter. Only the ready-to-plug-in Wattster box is connected between the inverter and the house grid without any intervention. In this way, the electricity enters the house circuit without having to rebuild the grid meter or lay new cables.

Smart Senses and Hall Senses

To ensure that you remain flexible at the customer's site, we offer numerous monitoring solutions with our Smart Senses for recording on the house network. These range from analog current clamps to digital electricity meters for the DIN rail. A special feature is our pluggable solution (Smart Sense+ 1 or 3/S). You can install these directly on the circuit breaker or between the supply terminal and the main fuse.

  • 1-phase sensors: Smart Sense+ 1/RM and Smart Sense+ Pro 1/RM, Smart Sense+ 1/S and Smart Sense Pro+ 1/ and Hall Sense 1/C
  • 3-phase sensors: Smart Sense+ 3/RM and Smart Sense+ Pro 3/RM, Smart Sense+ 3/S and Smart Sense Pro+ 3/ and Hall Sense 3/C

Four steps.
That's how fast and easy integration is now:

1.
Set the feed socket

You replace household sockets with Wieland or comparable feed-in sockets.

2.
Install the system components

The installation section: Install PV modules, inverters, Wattster and the selected measuring sensors (Smart Sense) including bridge on the main distribution board and/or sub-distribution board.

3.
Configure with the Wattster app

With the Wattster app developed in-house, you can record the installed components, meter type, local parameters of the electrical installation and select the desired feed-in profile (zero or surplus feed-in) in less than five minutes.

4.
Put into operation

When the inverter is switched on, the system is in operating mode and can feed electricity into the domestic grid. (In the case of surplus feed-in, a connection confirmation from the DSO must be available).

With these connections directly into the AC house network

From 1 kW to 4.6 kW (single-phase)

For the solar system on the garden shed, on the carport or on the roof, an existing household socket is replaced by a feed-in socket. For a specialist, this is a matter of five minutes. Apart from the non-invasive installation of measuring sensors on the phase(s), there is no need for any further intervention in the electrical installation.

From 3 kW to 11 kW (three-phase)

As soon as a three-phase power connection (CEE plug) is available or planned, Wattster enables the pluggable integration of solar systems from 3 kW watt to 11 kW. The Wattster XL solution is available for outputs above 11 kW and up to 70 kW. Interesting for private households as well as for commercial properties.

One app for startup.
And one for every day.

Configurator
for once

The Wattster Pro app guides you through the commissioning of the system and inverter in clear, comprehensible steps:

  • Automatic recording of the specifications of all components (serial number, model number, performance data, etc.)
  • Adaptation of the system to local parameters of the electrical installation
  • via web browser, soon also available as native app for iOS and Android

Energy monitor
for every day

Wattster Home offers your customers a compact overview:

  • on the production
  • the quota of own consumption
  • theCO2 emissionssaved
  • the current consumption
  • the data of the connected memory
  • and much more

A special highlight: The Wattster app works on all end devices with WLAN. Even as an application directly in the browser or completely offline: A ready-to-plug-in system with the WATTSTER Box can always be put into operation.
